Teapots made slowly, to be used slowly.

Handmade unglazed teapots made in the French Alps using high-mineral clay from Puisaye, these teapots are designed for the ritual of daily tea. The natural clay is left unglazed so it can breathe, soften the flavour of tea, and slowly take on its own character over time. Each pot is made slowly, in small batches, with care and attention at every stage—from wheel to spout to polish.

I’m Duncan. I’m a chef and potter living in the French Alps, where I make teapots by hand, using local high-mineral clay from Puisaye. I came to pottery through food—wanting to create simple, honest pieces to compliment the food I create. Over time, I found myself drawn again and again to the shape and function of teapots. Each teapot I make is unglazed, so the clay can breathe, take on the flavour of tea, and build its own character with use. For me, a good teapot becomes part of your routine—it’s stained with tea, softened by time, and used often.

No two are the same

Each one is shaped by hand, by someone who simply enjoys making teapots. That joy shows in the feel of the clay, the balance of the form, and the quiet patience in the process. These aren’t display pieces. They’re made to be used, loved, and lived with—for years, maybe generations.
